Due to an emergency in the family with a parent hospitalized, I will be indefinitely delayed when it comes to posting new works in the immediate future.
My mother will unfortunately be spending Mother's Day in the ICU, and quite probably longer. I cannot go any further into details at this time, as there has not been a proper diagnosis for what is wrong with her. They're still trying to stabilize her blood sugar and oxygenation levels, and have been since approximately 4:30PM EST Saturday.
Prayers and well wishes for her would be appreciated.
UPDATE:
They're claiming acute hypoglycemia was what caused the blood sugar problem. They haven't yet determined why it happened, though (or if they did, they haven't told me). She was moved out of the ICU about Noon on Monday, and is now in a Pulmonary Wing, as that's their apparent concern now, as her oxygenation levels, while better than when she arrived, aren't at levels they approve of. (Frankly, I don't think she'll ever have that - she hasn't such since her coma in 2002.) Anyway, they're giving her breathing treatments and other stuff for that now, and they expect to put her through some physical therapy for walking around the wing and once they have that set to their satisfaction, they'll probably send her home.
Personally I don't think it's nearly enough, but... *shrugs* We'll see what's next as it comes, I guess...
